The Melting Pot, Centerville Ohio
May 3, 2010
Two weeks ago, I had a wonderful little invitation from The Melting Pot up in Centerville, Ohio, to come out for a night of delicious fondue with a bunch of local bloggers, most of whom I'm already lucky enough to count as some of my favorite people.
Of course I said yes; I even brought my friend Lynn (who I announced to the group as the blogger I'd "outed" - I knew I couldn't be the only blogger in my small parish!) along as my +1 which worked out perfectly as she had - hands down - the best quote of the night about why The Melting Pot is an awesome place for a date night with your hubs.
The food was fantastic - it's been so loooong since I've had fondue that I'd forgotten both how simple and delicious it is. We were treated to a spread of cheese and chocolate fondues - nom nom NOM!
I'd share some pictures with you but that would assume that I'd had the presence of mind to take pictures of the food and fun; nope, folks, this intrepid mom blogger was too busy having fun to use that fancy-schmancy iPhone to snap any good pictures. You can see some of the action here at Jenny's post about the night and here at Andrea's post, too.
My girl Katie at Domestic Debacle (who loves cheese more than anyone I've ever met) worked her polka-dotted self off to put together this event with the marketing team at The Melting Pot; be sure to swing over to her blogjoint if you have time; Katie was my Chinese Fire Drill partner at our table when we decided to mix things up a bit by changing seats. If I'm hanging out without the kids, I totally call dibbies on acting silly. ;-)
A big thanks to the staff at The Melting Pot for making our night memorable, for the tour, and for answering all of our questions!
And if you're like me (penny-wise, frugal and always looking for the biggest bang for your buck), you can save some $$ on your night out at The Melting Pot two ways. One, join Club Fondue and receive a FREE chocolate fondue for two when you sign up. Two, you can buy discounted gift certificates to The Melting Pot at Restaurant.com. Check it out!
