I suppose the reason for the delay - other than my usual very slow approach to all things blogging - is that it's taken me a long time to own my faith as a Catholic. Whether you're a poorly catechized cradle Catholic who grew up in the late 80's (like me) or a spirit-filled new convert to the faith, there comes a point in your life where you realize you can't play the blissfully ignorant card any longer.
If you search for the truth, eventually you find He who is all Truth.
And once you come to know Christ, to know He who is Truth, you can't unknow Him.
I'm still stumbling uphill on my faith journey through this world (aren't we all?) and I often find myself praying the words from Mark 9:24, "I do believe; help my unbelief." At the end of the day, I'm just trying my best to live a life that echoes the words of this quote from Philippians (emphasis mine):
So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure. - Phil 2:12-13Below is a list of resources* that have helped me over the years to better understand my faith, to better appreciate my faith, and to better live my faith. I am sure that I will continue to add to this list so please check back from time to time. Please feel free to leave a comment or to send me an email if you'd like to suggest a resource for this list as well.
