BlogHer Countdown Starts

I'm just a couple of weeks away from attending my first BlogHer conference.

I'm a lot little bit nervous and a little bit lot excited; nervous because I am feeling quite guppyish in the big blogging sea and excited because I am traveling with some dear friends who happen to be rocking awesome bloggers in their niches.

I wasn't planning on attending the conference; Knute really pushed me out of my comfort zone last February and said to just go, just buy the ticket and GO!

I took him up on it before he reconsidered the reality of being a solo parent for four summer days to our three hyped-up-on-popsicles children.

The conference (and all the many parties that are impossibly scheduled for a mere three days) will be fun and, I hope, educational. But I would be lying through my teeth if I told you I was attending solely for the blogging aspects.

The writer in me hopes to meet and network with professionals from the publishing world. Consider this my shameless bid for attention (which, considering my last post tells you that perhaps I need to take my own best advice); if you're an editor or an agent who's attending BlogHer in Chicago, I'd love to chat.

If you need help in finding me in Chicago, I promise I'll be easy to spot; I'll be the one with the deer-in-the-headlights look who's fumbling with her laptop as she tries to remember exactly how to hook up her wifi.

See you there!
