Then Sings My Soul

I listen to the songs my friend Andrea finds each week for this linkup over at Signs, Miracles, and Wonders and thought I'd add one of my own for the first time this week.

This is hands down my favorite Christmas song. And not just because it is simply beautiful (and beautifully sung in this YouTube), but because I think it captures the sense of awe that must have fallen upon our world when Christ was born.

I said here that I'm not the most holy roller of Catholics; it's true. I always thought that if I wasn't Catholic, I'd be a Quaker because I'm down with that whole simple relationship with God.

So the nature of His coming to be with us, to save us, how simple and humble it was truly moves me. And as a mother, I remember looking at each one of my children in the moments after they were born and feeling deeply connected to Mary; can you even imagine what she must have felt?

Oh, Holy Night indeed.

Watch and be filled with awe, too.

Merry Christmas, one and all.
