Mannerly Tweeting

So, I'm Twittering these days (it's like writing a haiku -- how can I best express myself in 140 characters or less?) and I had a moment yesterday when I found myself wondering:

Are there rules for Twittiquette?

After popping "Twitter Etiquette" up in my Yahoo! searchbox, I found that indeed, there are.

Ahhhhh...relief poured over me. Rules to follow and to which I can refer when I have a Tweeting conundrum. I'm sure this will happen since my smart Irish mouth is often a perfect fit for my right foot.

There are lots of Twitter Etiquette-type sites out there; this is the one I found that seemed pretty straightforward:

  1. I love Twitter! my advice:

    don't spam. save those "new blog post" tweets for your best stuff or if you need opinions for a poll.

    use the "@" button a lot! don't be shy. conversation starts when you reply to other tweets.
