A Question for My Readers
I just announced the impending shut down of my other blog, The New Frugal Mom.
While I enjoyed writing about deals and ways to save money and generally be smarter about money management, I had an, "A-HA!" moment when I looked in the mirror and noticed that I wasn't wearing a SuperHero cape.
(Yes, that is my sarcastic self speaking but as the sarcasm is aimed at myself, I think it's perfectly acceptable.)
So, despite the fact that The New Frugal Mom was posting some cranking stats and had the capability to become something bigger (as in, actual revenue-generating), I decided to shut her down within a week.
Along with the necessity of sleeping a few hours every 24-hour cycle, I'd also become very concerned with the integrity necessary to write a good personal finance blog. I'm no financial guru. We have debts to pay off like many of you out there. And while transparency (see, Jane - there it is again) in blogging is a brave quality I greatly admire, I'm never going to reveal the finer details of my financial life on any blog. The risks are too great.
Because I believe firmly in keeping my readership in the loop with what I do on my blog, I want to tell you about some things you'll see here at W-M as a result of this change:
*Weekly Kroger Deals (Cincinnati) on Mondays (sale/coupon match-ups) as part of BeCentsAble's Grocery Gathering;
*A compilation of some of the best posts from The New Frugal Mom moved here to Writer-Mommy;
*New posts (I'm thinking a weekly feature; more on that below) here at Writer-Mommy that deal with some aspect of frugality, finance, deals, or earning revenue online or on your blog; and,*New affiliate program advertising campaigns.
My question to you smart mommyfolk readers is this:
Would you like me to host a weekly blog carnival with a Mr. Linky box geared toward personal finance/saving money/making money with your blog?
I do not intend to shut down The New Frugal Mom only to move that operation here and completely change what I do here at Writer-Mommy.
But I would like to continue sharing some of the great ideas I stumble here and there with my readers - that's the best part of blogging! Sharing information that can help others.
If this is something you'd be interested in seeing and/or participating in, please drop a comment below or email me. I'd love to hear your input.
Thanks!
