WFMW -- My Other (Neglected) Blog

It's a backwards edition of WFMW (Works for Me Wednesday) over at one of my fave blogs, Rocks in My Dryer. I haven't done any linkylove posting lately, but I drafted this yesterday and realized it would be a good question for all you smart mommyfolk stopping by via WFMW.

So, here goes!

*************************

For anyone who's been clicking through here long enough to notice just how much I've changed things in the last few months (WP.com to WP.org-powered to Blogger...along with all the formatting changes), you might remember from the beginning days of this blog I also authored another blog, My Simple Kitchen over at WP.com.

This other blog of mine has become my red-headed step-child (a Don-ism; if you knew him in this world, you're holding your sides and laughing at that throwback); I've neglected it, ignored it, and just about forgotten it existed.

So you can imagine my surprise when I clicked my way through my Dashboard at WP.com for My Simple Kitchen and checked the stat counter.

That red-headed step-child is beating the pants off of this blog!

I haven't even posted there for ages, yet people are still coming in search of ideas to make life in the kitchen easier for themselves and to help bring back the idea that family dinners matter.

Here's my question to you, my dear three friends who feel sorry enough for me to visit this blog everyday readers:

Would you like to see me ramp up My Simple Kitchen to a full-fledged blog or site? I actually own the domain name (because I do so love to start projects; finishing them has become my challenge in the post-Royal Monkey era); I have some ideas for a site that might be helpful to all, and when I see that people are still visiting that sad little neglected blog, I know there are many folks who would benefit from my humble knowledge.

Of course, this effort would require way, way, way more coffee.

If you don't have time to click over to My Simple Kitchen, let me give you a brief rundown on what I was doing there.

Each week, I'd post a Weekly Dinner Menu of easy meals with links to the recipes online. I'd also post the Ingredients Needed List (a grocery list) for the menu. And when I had time, I'd cook in advance, take pictures, and try to show you how to use consolidated, cook-ahead cooking to de-stress dinnertime.

If this sounds like something you'd visit to help you de-stress your dinnertime planning, comment and let me know.

Or, if you have an even better idea for how to improve what I already started, comment and share. Isn't that just the best part of the blogosphere - sharing ideas?

Either way, thanks for stopping by Writer-Mommy! And try to swing through the linkage over at today's WFMW at Rocks in My Dryer; you might just be able to save a fellow blogger's sanity by solving their problem!

  4. Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving your ideas for dog training. Our dog is what we call 'Thai mutt', but Thai dog is a breed I found out.

She does like to jump up and we are working on that. I will try the paw squeezing.

I am off to check out your 'other blog', I love cooking ideas, so even with out seeing it I am sure I vote for vamping it up and keeping it going!

  5. It would seem only logical to continue to post to that blog and to ramp things up, since you are getting consistant traffic. And you may also want to think about how you could monetize that blog. As you are probably know, Money Saving Mom is running a series about producing and selling e-books, so this might be a good opportunity to explore that avenue, as well.
