It's Time to Party, Bloggy-Style!

Ultimate Blog Party 2008

When the snow blows and the wind howls, it's time for only one thing:

A big blogging party!

Thank goodness the SuperMommies over at 5 Minutes for Mom have their annual Ultimate Blog Party going on starting today, Day 1 of 2 Snowed In For the Weekend here at Casa de Monkeys.

Seriously, it's not too bad. Yet. Here's my front door:

We've gotten about four inches so far which is no big deal for us folks in Ohio; it's the predicted total of 10-15 inches after tomorrow's snow hits that irks me. Especially since it was a balmy 72 here just four days ago.

Sigh...

I guess I'll just have to blog onward!

If you're new to Writer-Mommy, I'm pretty new at blogging myself. I've switched platforms and formats a few times since I started back in Oct 2007; I'm twitchy like that.

I'm oft run ragged by The Royal Monkeys and the Insane Canine Posse, but when I do have a few moments I dream of writing.

I tried my hand at Nanowrimo last November, just as I started this blog. I adore multi-tasking; if only I could master multi-finishing.

I'm a stay-at-home mom; I've tried moms groups of all kinds and I've discovered that I just don't speak the same language.

I love lists and writing exercises that will actually mean something to my children when I'm gone.

I'd chat more, but I must be off now to save the world - or at least bedtime - one Royal Monkey at a time.

Thanks for dropping by Writer-Mommy! Stay a bit, why dontcha? And don't sweat commenting; I'm a big lurky turkey myself!

And head over to the party at 5 Minutes for Mom - heck, join in the fun, too!

  2. Hi Marianne! I'm also a writer - did the NaNoWriMo thing last year for the first time. And I haven't been at this blogging thing for long either. But I must admit, it's starting to become additive. Yikes! Not good for my writing.

It's nice to meet you! Happy blogging!

  3. Hi! I completed NaNoWriMo back in 05 - I believe doing it really helped jump start my writing career overall! So keep at it. :)

I'm in California and we're not having the weird weather but it has been crazy this week for everyone! Lots of balmy temps to snow in a matter of days, so strange. But that's spring for you.

  5. Hi Marianne. I like your blog. I dream of writing but wouldn't really call myself one...
I had to click over on your post about mom groups. I have never been in one but always wanted to. A couple of years ago I moved to a small town and can't find one if I wanted to. Maybe for the best. I find most of my support online.
Anyway, nice to meet you. Happy Blog Party.

  8. I love your banner - too cute. :) I'm also a writing mommy and I happen to belong to Momwriters, too. :) I've been rather quiet on there for a while. I love to multi-task, but sadly, haven't mastered multi-finishing either.

I enjoyed your blog party post. :)

  9. Hi Marianne!
We seem to have alot in common, I only have one crazy dog :)...and a couple of crazy children. I just published a book, and am seeing many other common traits. Thanks for the snowy picture! I miss my snow....

  13. Thanks for stopping by my party the other day! I'm doing a little partying today and jumping around to different blogs. How did your NaNoWriMo go last year? I discovered it about a week before it started so I didn't do too well, but I'll be prepared for this year!!! Another funny thing is that I recognized your adorable kids' nicknames and wondered why only to discover that at some point in the past 6 months I must have found your blog because its in my bookmark list!!! I'll definitely be back! :)

  15. Hiya I had such a good time here checking out all the links to old posts and adoring your dogs. This blog party thing has been really fun, lots of new places to check back.

How did Nano go for you btw (do you ahve a post link?) I got to the royal total of 500 words which I guess suggests I'm not ready to write yet - it goes back on the list for this year though.
